  • A perfect pulled pork rub that also works magic on chicken, brisket, and pork chops.
  • Great as a butt rub seasoning for smoking large cuts low and slow.
  • Balanced blend of sweet, smoky, tangy, and just a subtle kick of heat.
Try It On:
  • Pork Shoulder / Boston Butt – Ideal dry rub for pork before it hits the smoker.
  • Ribs or Pork Chops – Use as a bold, no-sauce-needed pork chop seasoning.
  • Brisket or Chicken – A great all-purpose brisket rub for smokers.
  • Even on veggies or roasted sweet potatoes – seriously, try it.
Pro Tips:
  • One 5 oz pouch covers about 3 to 4 racks of ribs, or two 7 lb Boston butts.

Smoke 'Em If You Got 'Em

When I moved to NC I had issues with the "Carolina style" BBQ. I was raised on GA and TN styles so that had a lot to do with my taste. When I found the Flavor Seed products I was skeptical to say the least but wanted to try this with an open mind. And I am so glad I did.
The Smoke 'Em If You Got 'Em seasoning is amazing. I first tried it on some fresh cut Country Style ribs and was surprised at the depth of flavor with overpowering the food. Then I put some on some Buckboard Bacon I was going to smoke. Again I was very happy with the results. Very good flavor without the overpowering taste that so many have. WELL DONE FLAVORSEED.

Thank you so much for giving our Smoke 'Em If You Got 'Em seasoning a chance and for sharing your positive experience with us. We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the depth of flavor and balance it brings to your BBQ. Thanks again for your support and happy grilling!

A versatile, tasty rub

I grill and smoke year round, and am always looking for new spice mixes and rubs to try. I recently tried a new one to me, Flavor Seed's Smoke 'Em If You Got "Em (SEIYGE).

I found SEIYGE to be a nicely balanced herb and spice mixture, very flavorful and aromatic, with just enough kick from the cayenne and ancho chile. This is a versatile enough rub, I think it would work well on just about any protein that used to walk. It might be overpowering for fish/seafood.

For my test runs, I tried it on two meats: chicken thighs, and a pork tenderloin. For the thighs, I gave them a liberal coat of the rub and grilled. SEIYGE lent a very nice flavor to the meat. My apologies for no pics of the resulting chicken. I was really hungry that night, and ate them as soon as they came off the grill; forgot to take pics in the process.

For the tenderloin, I gave it a nice coating of the rub, and let sit in the frig to dry marinate for about thirty minutes. The color already looked great at that point. Then I smoked with cherry wood at 225 degrees Fahrenheit (Masterbuilt electric smoker) until the probe temp hit 150 degrees. Took about 2 hours. This is a new favorite. The flavors from the rub complemented the smoked meat without overpowering. I will definitely add this to the rotation.

The only negative comment I have is minor. At this point in life I prefer my rubs with no salt, and no sugar, for health reasons. For some cooks, I will add them to the rub in small proportions. Also, I use rubs for both low temp smoking, and high temp grilling. When the meat is grilled and there is sugar in the rub, the sugar burns. I'm not a fan of that taste of burnt sugar. But again that is a minor complaint, this rub shines when used in the smoker. I would be willing to pay a little more for a salt and sugar free version though.

Overall, I'd give this rub a 4.8/5 rating. Can't wait to try it on other proteins and different ways. When I run out of this bag I will very likely buy it again. Thumbs up!

Thank you John for this thorough review of our BBQ rub. I'm so happy that you like it. Another great rub (without sugar) is Divine Bovine - our organic steak seasoning. I'm sure you'll love it.

Powerful Flavor

Tried out the Flavor Seed on a Tri Tip last weekend. Wow. The flavor was intense. Really elevated the meat during the three hour smoke.

Thanks for giving us a try. I agree, our organic BBQ rub is perfect for smoking meat like Tri Tip. It's also my go-to blend for Boston butts.

Delicious Pork Seasoning!!

Got my “Smoke ‘Em If You Got ‘Em” seasoning from Flavor Seed and decided to do “Party Ribs”. The seasoning had a great fresh and sweet aroma and is very fine in texture which is great cause it doesn’t clump up when trying to apply the rub to the meat. I used a very thin layer of avacodo oil as a binder. Not a big fan of using mustard, honey, syrup, or mayo (yes I said mayo) as a binder. I’ve ever only used mustard and I’ve heard of people the others but for me, oil or just water is my favorite binder. After applying the rub, I let the meat sweat for about 30 minutes and it gave them a great starting color and aborbed into the meat really well. For this cook, I used my Char-Griller Akorn Kamado style grill and I cooked 250-275 (my temps fluctuated a bit, still getting used to the grill) I cooked them on each side for an hour and pulled them off when they reached about 170-175 internal temperature. I loaded them into a pan with butter, brown sugar, raw honey, tossed them in a light coating Kinders Orinonal BBQ sauce. Covered them and put them in my oven at 300 for about 40ish minutes. I checked for probe tenderness and once they were there I threw them back onto the grill for about 10 more minutes to tack up the sauce. These turned out delicious with an amazing color!! The seasoning added a wonderful sweet flavor (there’s brown sugar in the rub) that pairs great with pork ribs. I didn’t notice anything overpowering in the rub, it’s very well balanced and each spice compliments the others. I would be careful when using this spice on the faster cooked pork cuts, examples being pork chops and smaller cuts like that, because I feel that the temps you use to cook those may burn the sugars in the rub. That being said, this goes great on slower cooked cuts like ribs, pork butts/ shoulders, hams, and loins. All in all this was great cook that was made even better with this wonderful and fresh rub!!

Balance rub on Pork

I did a smoked pulled pork butt with SEIYGE (Smoke Em If You Got Em) and the balance flavor profile was great for the tacos, enchiladas and the sandwiches I made out of this sample.
I seriously recommend trying this on any pork or chicken BBQ or Smoke recipe you won't be disappointed.

Best Rub I have tried

I ordered This Product to try it and it arrived Quickly with a sample pack of their wild game rub. I have used both and enjoyed them so much, I am definitely going to try some of their other products. So far, I've used the 'Smoke em if you got em' on Pork Ribs, bone in Pork Chops, A shoulder roast and a whole chicken which I rotisserie cooked on my wood pellet grill. Everything has turned out fantastic and I will order more!

Smoke’em if you got em

This was a great rub. I used a 5oz poly bag for almost 6 pounds of ribs. The salt started the meat sweating, allowing the flavors to meld into the meat. I used the 3-2-1 method, adding only brown sugar and butter as I wrapped them in foil at 3 hours. The ribs barked up nicely at about 2.5 hours in @190. After wrapping I went to 250 for the remainder to 197F. The bones pulled cleanly, and the meat was extremely tender. Some rubs impart a real perfume odor and taste into the meat. This rub did not. It allowed the true meat flavor to shine through. The ancho chili provided the perfect sneak attack on my tongue. I would not hesitate to use this rub again for any pork product

Smokey Sweet Heat Goodness!!!

I tried Smoke 'Em' if You Got 'Em' on a pork tenderloin and some vegetables. It was delicious. It has a very nice smokey sweet flavor with a bit of heat to it. I didn't think it was too hot, but I am Cajun! Haha! This is a great all around rub that would be fantastic on just about any meat!!

“Smoke ’Em If You Got ‘Em” Baby Back Ribs

Everyone loved the flavor of this rub on the baby backs that I smoked on my Large Big Green Egg!! Other reviews had mentioned the sweet taste at first and a little heat on the back side. The overall flavor was on the sweet side, but it was not too sweet. Didn’t get a lot of heat. Just a hint of heat on the back side. Overall, we were very pleased with the overall taste of this rub. Will buy and use again for sure!!

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this BBQ rub spicy?

Not really. It has a subtle kick from organic cayenne and ancho chile, but it's more sweet and smoky than hot. Great for the whole family.

What cuts of meat work best with this rub?

It’s perfect for pulled pork, ribs, pork chops, brisket, and even grilled chicken. Use it on any cut you’d throw on the smoker or grill.

How much rub do I need per rack of ribs?

About 1½ to 2 tablespoons per side of a full rack. One 5 oz pouch covers roughly 3 to 4 racks, or two 7 pound Boston butts – enough for a full weekend cook.

Are there any additives or preservatives in this seasoning?

Nope. Just USDA Organic spices – no fillers, no preservatives, and no artificial ingredients. It’s clean, simple, and full of real flavor.

Why does this blend only come in a pouch?

We don’t add anti-caking chemicals to any Flavor Seed blend. Seasonings built on garlic and sugar will eventually cake in a glass jar without them – that’s simply what real ingredients do. You can break it loose with a butter knife easily enough, but our customers told us they’d rather not have to. So we moved this blend to flexible packaging, where you can break the seasoning up right in the bag.

Why is sea salt not organic?

Sea salt isn't considered "organic" in the USDA sense because it's a mineral, not a product of agriculture, and thus doesn't fit the definition of organic food, which focuses on agricultural practices.

Why is there sugar in the ingredients?

The organic brown sugar helps create that classic BBQ crust, or “bark,” when slow-cooked or smoked. It also balances the smoky and spicy flavors with just the right touch of sweetness – without making it overly sweet.
